Let’s make art.

Welcome!

Katie is a teaching artist, performer, director/choreographer, administrator and theatremaker dedicated to empowering people of all ages and life experiences through the collaborative magic of theatre.

Originally from Rockton, Illinois, Katie earned her Masters in Arts Administration from University of Kentucky and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Millikin University. She has taught with nationally recognized institutions including Imagination Stage, Signature Theatre, Educational Theatre Company and Wolf Trap Institute of Early Learning Through the Arts. She is now thrilled to serve the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts as Education Supervisor where her work focuses on leading, implementing, and evaluating the Education Programs of the CCPA including Young Footliters Classes, Footliters Traveling Playhouse, First Act, and more! She is also a driving force behind Footliters Imagination Studio: a program that creates extraordinary professional theatre experiences to challenge, educate, empower, and inspire young people in their schools and communities.  She is supremely grateful for this opportunity to build life-changing theatre experiences for children.

Katie has served various Iowa nonprofit arts organizations as Associate Artistic Director, Interim Artistic Director, Development Associate, and Marketing Manager. She was a member of Actors Equity for eight years and has worked professionally on more than 100 productions. She has written the book and lyrics for four original children’s musicals entitled The School for Spies, The Vanishing of the Jolly Roger, The Call of the Matterhorn, and The Secret of the Sphinx alongside composer Jason Sifford.

When not directing or teaching, Katie can be found travelling with her incredible husband, Keegan, and sipping cold brew.

You deserve to take up space in the world.
